Google sites presents lots of possibilities.  All you need is an email address to sign up.  You do not need to join gmail.

Through google sites it is easy to create a public site as a class website.

 Also you can set up a site just available to you for your own storage of files.  For example files too large to email to work can be uploaded into your site from one computer and then downloaded to another computer.  Your work done at home is easily accessible from any computer.

You can set up a site in which you select who can see and edit.  Great for class peer editing activities.  And all changes are saved so if a site gets messed up you can go back to an earlier version.
